Computer-Aided Design
(CAD)
   Through the use of both proprietary and off-the-shelf software systems, CAD incorporates technology to assist in the design process. Color combinations and garment style lines can be quickly and easily manipulated to reflect design variations. Fabrications, textures, textiles, and prints can be incorporated in the design sketch to provide a detailed rendition of the garment without the labor- and time-intensive task of hand rendering. Technical design sketches are dependent upon CAD to execute detailed technical production instructional packages.
